Goal: Body composition, perimenopause, confidence
Amanda Brown, ★★★★★

"Three months on I'm noticeably stronger, my jeans fit better through the waist and my glutes have shape I've never had. Energy, sleep and confidence are all up. Most importantly I now know lifting doesn't make women bulky — it makes you look athletic and feel like yourself again. Couldn't recommend Lean Bodies more."

Lee Borthwick before and after full body transformation with Lean Bodies
Goal: Full body transformation
Lee Borthwick, ★★★★★

"Having worked with several coaches over the years, I can say with confidence that Callan is the best I've worked with to date. He's helped me achieve physical results I didn't think possible and moreover, my health is in a much better place than ever before. I can't recommend Lean Bodies enough."

Goal: BJJ competition prep and S&C
★★★★★

"Callan has been my S&C and nutrition coach for the last 9 months helping me prepare for jiu jitsu competitions. He has revolutionised my training — I have a much better athletic base, massively improved strength and endurance, and he completely removed the stress of making weight for competition."

John Tierney
Goal: Rehab PT through to performance PBs
★★★★★

"I started with Callan doing rehabilitation PT two years ago. His knowledge, understanding and support are absolutely amazing. He listens but stays firm. Having overcome the rehab I'm now achieving new PBs — something I thought I would never do again."

Saj Sharif
Goal: Muscle gain and physique
★★★★★

"In under a year I made huge progress — significant muscle mass increase and improved overall fitness. The training and diet plans are very detailed and professional. Callan knows all the science behind why he wants you to do things a particular way. I always felt positively challenged and looked after."

Agnieszka Rycerz
Goal: Fat loss and body recomposition
★★★★★

"The transformation has been incredible. Callan helped me go from a classic dad bod to a seriously improved physique — dropping weight while retaining and building muscle. Every session I can feel myself getting stronger, leaner, and more confident."

Shaun Gray
Goal: Online coaching, structure and accountability
★★★★★

"I've really enjoyed the online coaching with Callan. It's given me the structure and accountability I needed to make consistent progress towards my fitness goals. Since starting the programme, my sleep, strength, recovery, fitness, energy, and overall mindset have all improved significantly. Another massive win has been being able to train and become stronger without the back pain I used to struggle with. His knowledge and expertise has allowed all areas of my life to align which has brought out the best in me."

Katy Slane
Goal: BJJ competition weight cut
★★★★★

"I used Callan to make weight for a BJJ competition and could not recommend him enough. He is so knowledgeable and was able to adjust for unexpected illnesses. Not only did he explain what I should do but why. 10/10."

Hannah McMahan
Goal: Training around injury (slipped disc)
★★★★★

"I love working with Callan. I have a slipped disk and he is able to modify everything to suit me and my needs. Not only is he a great trainer, his nutrition plan is great too. He really listens to his clients. I would recommend him to anyone regardless of what your goals are."

How To Read This

How to judge a transformation photo

Every result on this page belongs to a real client who left a verified 5-star review on Google, and the photos are theirs. That is a lower bar than it should be, because the fitness industry has made transformation photos close to meaningless. It is worth knowing what to look for, on this page and on anyone else's.

Things that make a photo look like a bigger change than it is:

  • Lighting and posture. Overhead light, a braced core and a slight turn can manufacture a visible difference in a single afternoon.
  • Time of day and food. A morning fasted photo against an evening photo after a full day of eating exaggerates the gap considerably.
  • Tan, pump and clothing. All three are routinely used and none of them are body composition.
  • No timeframe given. A photo pair with no stated period is not telling you the thing that matters most. Twelve weeks and three years are very different claims.

The more useful questions to ask any coach, including this one:

  • Over what period? Genuine body composition change is measured in months, not weeks.
  • Was that person a real client, and can it be verified? Under UK advertising rules, testimonials must be genuine and evidenced. Reviews on a third-party platform such as Google are harder to manufacture than quotes typed onto a website.
  • What did they actually do? A result produced by an unsustainable crash diet is not the same product as one produced by training and a manageable deficit, even if the photo looks similar.
  • What happened afterwards? Plenty of impressive photos are followed by a full regain that nobody publishes.

Which is also why this page does not carry dozens of before and afters. Callan works with a deliberately small number of clients at a time, and only publishes photos where the client has agreed to it. A wall of transformations from a coach who claims individual attention is usually a contradiction.

Context

What these results have in common

The goals on this page are deliberately varied: body composition through perimenopause, a full transformation, fat loss and recomposition, BJJ competition weight cuts, and training around a slipped disc. That range is the point. The common thread is not a single programme applied to everybody.

What is consistent is the method. Every one of these started with an assessment rather than a template, paired resistance training with nutrition coaching rather than treating them as separate purchases, and got reviewed and adjusted regularly rather than being written once and left alone. Details of how that works in practice are on the personal training, fat loss coaching and online coaching pages.

The other thing worth saying plainly: these are the clients who stuck with it. Coaching does not work on its own. It removes the guesswork, sets the plan, and holds you to it, but the sessions still have to be attended and the food still has to be eaten. Any coach implying otherwise is selling you something that does not exist.
